Magnus the Magpie PRINT

This mini portrait is inspired by a pair of local magpies that frequent my garden while my son and I are outside. We’ve dubbed them Magnus & Magda. They frequently come and sing to us with their sweet little warbles and it fills my heart with so much joy. We have grown very fond of these two who seem to have adopted us as well. They’ve stolen my heart so I just knew I wanted to paint a magpie portrait. The colours of the background are generated from the fluorescent wattle blossoms I was seeing around home at the time. I love the stark contrast and happy energy of the bold, bright greens and yellows against the sleek, black feathers.
