Jesus PRINT

I painted this for a christian conference but with a particular intent. I didn’t want this to look like an enlarged version of the posters and flyers. I wanted it to be an artwork in and of itself. So It could have a life beyond the conference. I was asked to use the ‘logo-like’ design from the flyers, otherwise I had free reign. To give the painting more personality, I started the background with an orange underwash to tie with the graphic, then used contrasting colours with loose brushstrokes for a bold, artistic effect. I used a dripping technique to add a sense of depth and layers. I left the lettering and circle border imperfect for a hand-crafted finish. Using the same bronze from the circular frame, I adorned it with the final touches of a pallet knife for enhanced texture. The end result is a Christian artwork that has a unique liveliness and vibrancy. It was well praised at the conference by the many who attended; I’m very pleased with my execution.
