Divine Storm

Divine Storm was the first painting where I broke out of my “realistic depiction” shell and tried something abstract. All I knew definitively was the colours I wanted to use, and where I imagined them mapped out across the canvas. It’s been a game-changing painting actually. It opened up a world of possibilities for new styles I’d never thought of trying in other paintings. It’s led me to take more risks with techniques I’ve never tried. I love that it looks like a turbulent cloud, yet it gives me a feeling of tranquility. Hence the name.
